Connecting Groups
Why should I join a Connecting Group?
We believe that you can only move so far on your spiritual journey without others. Being in a group will help you develop lasting friendships that will push you further faster on your spiritual journey. Also, groups are just a great place to make friends and realize you are not alone in whatever you are going through. Groups celebrate successes and help each other through the tough times.
What Is A Connecting Group Like?
Every weekend, people come together at Marsh Creek Church to worship. The songs, bible verses, messages and testimonies help us each, individually, to take another step in growing our faith. As important as this is,
"Two are better than one. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!" Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
That is why at Marsh Creek the friendship, fellowship and faithfulness of a connecting group is the connection that makes our church come alive for each individual. Whatever your interest, your need, or your season of life, we envision a connecting group waiting to accept you. There you will find people caring for one another and committed to giving you a place to belong in healthy relationships with others and to become more like Christ.
How Can I Find Time For A Connecting Group?
We’re all so busy! But a connecting group just takes about two hours every other week, and it gives you lifelong and eternal benefits. Surely, a great group of friends is worth more than a couple of sitcoms a week! After you join a connecting group, your question will not be “How can I find the time?” but “Why did I let so much time pass before joining?”
What’s It Like The First Time I Attend?
We anticipate new groups forming on a regular basis, so chances are you’ll be no newer than anyone else in the group. There will be a facilitator who has been trained in leading a connecting group, and will know how to bring everyone together, so you will feel comfortable from the first day. If you join an already established group, the facilitator will introduce you to everyone, bringing you up to speed on what’s going on, and making sure you quickly become one of the group.
How do I get into a group?
Our Connecting Groups run on a semester system, approximately three times a year. You can sign up for a Connecting at the beginning of each semester. We also have groups starting at different times during the year, so if you wish to join a group in the middle of a semester, you simply have to fill out a Connecting Card on Sunday, and hand it in. Also, you can sign up online by clicking on the Connecting Group Registration link, and we will contact you about the next set of groups.
